This is part of my work, I don't have all in this format, but here is something special. My experience began in 1983, in a musical Record Company. No computers, only free hand job. Then I started my studies at Metropolitan University in Mexico City. The time told me that I will never leave the University. Now Im teaching in it.
Este es parte de mi trabajo, no tengo todo en formato digital, pero aquí muestro algo especial.
Mi experiencia empieza en 1983 en una compañía de discos. Sin computadoras todo a mano. Entonces empecé mi carrera en la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. El tiempo me dijo que nunca iba a dejarla , ahora doy clases en ella.
Airbrush!!!, in 1984-85, my first illustrations. The airbrush gave to me an obsession, when I saw the Japan illustrations, or people like Frank Frazzeta, Boris Vallejo, Pater Sato, or Sorayama, they where great illustrators. and I tried to make it. The airbrush gave to me a great experience that now help me to my work.
Pincel de Aire!!!!, en 1984 -85, mis primeras ilustraciones. El pincel de aire me dio obsesión, cuando veia a ilustradores como Frank Frazzeta, Boris Vallejo, Pater Sato o Ajime Sorayama, que eran grandes, yo trataba de hacerlo. El pincel de aire me dio una gran experiencia que ahora aplico en mi trabajo.
My first great job. International Festival Acapulco. from 1991 to 1998, this music festival was very important in Mexico. Some of the most important artist of the eighties came to Acapulco. This poster is special, the first steps of digital graphics. No Photoshop, only PIXEL PAINT, jajajaja!!!, this is an hybrid work, the illustration was made by free hand pixel by pixel, and the logo in airbrush. The file is about 400k, in an Old Macintosh, (Mac II SI, I think, but Im not sure).
The final poster in 1998 has 200 mb. wow!! , an example of the new technology.
Mi primer gran trabajo. El festival Internacional Acapulco, desde 1991 hasta 1998. Este festival musical fué muy importante en mi país, algunos de los artistas más destacados vinieron a Acapulco. Este cartel es especial para mi, marca el inicio de la era digital. Sin PHOTOSHOP, solamente Pixel Paint, jajajajaja!!!, a mano pixel por pixel, un trabajo híbrido, el logo fue realizado en pincel de aire. El archivo de la ilustración pesaba como 200k en una vieja Mac II SI, (creo) y el cartel de 1998 pesó como 200 megas. un ejemplo de la nueva tecnología.

Otro festival importante, OTI XX, ORGANIZACION DE LA TELEVISION IBEROAMERICANA. Cartel realizado totalmente en pincel de aire, al viejo estilo de trabajo en diseño.
This work was important for me, it is not commercial. I began to use in 1999 "Live Pictures", ohh!! what a program, revolutionary, great!!. Photoshop was a child with Live Pictures. Its a shame that the power of Adobe eat this program, first in use layers, with other concept of graphic manipulation . Today I try tu use it, but the new macs don't want it.
Este trabajo es muy importante para mi, sin ningún fin comercial, yo empezé a usar en 1999 un programa llamado "Live Pictures", ooooohhh! que programa!!!. Photoshop se quedaba chiquito. Es una pena que compañías como Adobe se lo comieran completito, el primero en usar Layers, un concepto totalmente diferente manipulación digital. Hoy trato de usarlo pero las nuevas macs no me dejan. ¿El tema México? no , como creen.

An Honor to a great Artist
In my family and for all Mexico since the begining of 1900, Ernesto Garcia Cabral,
was an extraordinary artist, this design is based on his draws, for him in his honor .
Honor para mi familia y México, mi tio abuelo Ernesto el "Chango" Garcia Cabral.
